Alibaba Cloud, the cloud unit of Alibaba Group, has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave: AI Infrastructure Solutions, Q4 2025, according to a report by research firm Forrester.
The report placed Alibaba Cloud among five leaders out of 13 vendors evaluated. Forrester assessed companies based on their current offerings and long-term strategy. Alibaba Cloud received the highest possible score in seven of the 13 criteria under current offerings, including configuration, data management, operations management, fault tolerance, efficiency, and deployment location. It also earned top scores in roadmap planning and pricing flexibility and transparency under the strategy category.
Forrester said Alibaba Cloud’s roadmap aligns system architecture, infrastructure upgrades, and governance to address future needs, not just current demand. The report also noted that the company’s pricing structure is more straightforward than many competitors, making it easier for customers to plan costs. Customers cited by Forrester highlighted performance, scalability, open-source development, and customer support.
“For us, this recognition from Forrester validates our commitment to building cloud and AI infrastructure that supports the digital economy,” said Jiangwei Jiang, senior researcher and GM of infrastructure products, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. “We are developing the foundation enterprises need to use AI effectively, with solutions that are high-performing, scalable, secure, and compliant with local requirements.”
The evaluation focused on core AI infrastructure, such as compute, network, and storage, and how these components support AI workloads. Forrester emphasized the importance of choosing infrastructure based on workload needs, operational efficiency, sustainability, and long-term flexibility.
Alibaba Cloud said the recognition shows its “AI+Cloud” strategy, which combines cloud infrastructure with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The company continues to invest in technology development as part of this approach.
In February 2025, Alibaba Group announced plans to invest at least RMB380 billion over three years to expand its cloud computing and AI infrastructure. The company said the investment aims to strengthen its AI capabilities and cloud services to support businesses and developers as demand for AI technology grows.
