Bargën, Indonesia’s first locally made hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) system, has officially entered the Philippine market through Mursmedic Philippines, as hospitals and wellness providers explore new ways to support patient recovery using oxygen-based treatment.
The system was presented at an event titled “Bargën: Discover. Explore. Experience. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy” at The Westin Manila, which gathered more than 50 participants from hospitals, wellness centers, government agencies, distributors, and healthcare investors.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a treatment where a patient breathes pure oxygen inside a sealed chamber with higher-than-normal air pressure. The idea is that more oxygen reaches the body’s tissues, which may help with wound healing, swelling reduction, and recovery after injury or rehabilitation.
The event also highlighted closer cooperation between Indonesia and the Philippines in healthcare technology. The Honorable Agus Trenggono from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao City and The Honorable Rafail Walangitan from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia gave opening remarks. Randy Teguh, MD, MM, founder and CEO of Mursmedic Group, officially opened the program.
Bargën presented different HBOT setups, including a small chamber for one to two people, a larger shared chamber with safety features so patients can exit safely without stopping treatment for others, and an animal version designed for veterinary use and research.
In the “Discover” session, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Guritno Suryokusumo, MD, SMHS, DEA explained the science behind HBOT and how oxygen levels in the body may affect healing and recovery over time through his Guritno Adaptation System.
In the “Explore” session, Imam Subagyo, B.Econ., MM, Co-Founder & Director of PT Mitra Multi Teknomedika, the company that manufactures the chamber in Indonesia, discussed how HBOT could be used in hospitals, rehab centers, and wellness clinics.
The “Experience” segment let attendees see and try HBOT setups through demonstrations and exhibits from Indonesian medical technology companies covering devices, telehealth tools, and other healthcare equipment.
Philippine institutions present included St. Luke’s Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital, University of Santo Tomas Hospital, Ospital ng Makati, Philippine Hospital Association, and Philippine Wound Care Society.
Security Bank Corp., represented by Bonbon Chua, Senior Assistant Vice President – Focus Segments Specialist, also looked into possible financing options for hospitals and clinics interested in adopting HBOT systems in the Philippines.
