DJI, a civilian drones and innovative camera technology company, has launched the Osmo Pocket 4P in the Philippines, bringing a pocket-sized camera with features designed for content creators, vloggers, and video professionals.
The new handheld camera builds on DJI’s Osmo Pocket lineup, which helped popularize compact gimbal cameras when the original model was introduced in 2018. The Osmo Pocket 4P adds a dual-camera setup, allowing users to capture both wide shots and portrait-style videos without changing lenses.
The camera features a new 1-inch CMOS sensor designed to improve image quality, especially in challenging lighting conditions such as sunsets, night scenes, and backlit shots. It supports up to 17 stops of dynamic range, helping preserve details in both bright and dark areas.
DJI also added a 60 mm tele lens with an f/1.8 aperture, offering 3x optical zoom and up to 12x zoom. The lens is designed for portrait shots by creating a stronger background blur effect, similar to what users typically get from larger cameras.
For creators producing videos for social media platforms, the Osmo Pocket 4P supports 4K video recording at up to 240 frames per second, allowing slow-motion footage. It also introduces DJI’s 10-bit D-Log 2 color profile, which captures more than a billion colors for more flexibility when editing videos.
The camera weighs 230 grams and uses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal for smoother footage. DJI’s ActiveTrack 8.0 feature can automatically keep people, vehicles, pets, or moving subjects centered in the frame, even while using zoom.
Other features include gesture controls, instant recording by rotating the touchscreen, 4K Live Photo, 37MP high-resolution photos, and faster file transfers through USB 3.1 with speeds of up to 800 MB/s.
The Osmo Pocket 4P also works with DJI’s Osmo ecosystem accessories, including fill lights, filters, battery handles, tripods, wide-angle lenses, and OsmoAudio microphones.
