Pomelo, a financial service app catering to Filipino families in the United States, has introduced a unique approach to cross-border money transfers. The app, designed to strengthen financial ties and empower users’ financial health, provides a range of features to simplify and improve the remittance process.

Pomelo enables users to send money without incurring transfer fees, ensuring that more funds go directly to families in the Philippines. It also offers the ability to send money immediately, even before payday, with no interest charges. Every transaction contributes to building the sender’s credit history in the United States, as Pomelo reports to all three major credit bureaus.

“Pomelo is reimagining how Filipino families support each other across borders,” Ladd Martin, chief marketing officer of Pomelo, said in a media release. “We understand the deep connections that make cross-border families unique.”

The app’s creators emphasize its potential to ease the financial responsibilities of Filipino families, particularly during the holiday season. To amplify this message, Pomelo collaborated with advertising agency BBDO Guerrero to produce a heartfelt film that underscores the essence of family connection.

While Pomelo is currently available only in the US, the company encourages Filipinos in the Philippines to introduce the app to relatives and friends overseas.
