Globe boosts 5G reach with 256 new sites

Globe has rolled out 256 new 5G sites in the first half of the year, boosting its 5G coverage across the Philippines. 

In the National Capital Region (NCR), Globe’s 5G outdoor coverage now stands at 98.45%. In key cities across the Visayas and Mindanao, the company has reached a 94.19% coverage rate. Globe hopes to enhance digital connectivity to offer faster, more reliable internet services.

“Our aggressive 5G rollout across the country is a crucial part of our strategy to ensure that the Philippines is at the forefront of digital transformation,” said Joel Agustin, SVP and head of Service Planning and Engineering at Globe. “We are proud to see how our investments are resulting in positive change, enabling our customers to enjoy seamless digital experiences wherever they are.”

By June 2024, over seven million devices were connected to Globe’s 5G network, indicating a growing demand for high-speed mobile data. 

Globe has also expanded its international presence through 5G roaming partnerships with 167 operators in 87 destinations. These partnerships allow Globe customers to access high-speed data both domestically and abroad, reinforcing the company’s global standing.
