Regional insurtech Igloo is expanding its presence in 2025 through new partnerships and product launches across Southeast Asia. The company is also strengthening existing collaborations to support its embedded insurance and sales intermediaries business lines.
Igloo is deepening its partnership with consumer finance platform Salmon in the Philippines by introducing Gadget Protection. The new product covers device repairs and replacements for gadgets bought through Salmon’s platform. This adds to their existing loan protection coverage, which helps borrowers manage repayments in unexpected situations.
The partnership with Skyro is also growing with the launch of Goods Protection. This service extends coverage to items such as home furniture, clothing, auto accessories, and toys, safeguarding them from everyday risks. Skyro and Salmon serve an estimated 300,000 Filipinos, providing financial and insurance access to underbanked and unbanked communities.
Igloo continues its collaboration with Shopee in the Philippines with the introduction of Goods Protection. Underwritten by SeaInsure, the plan covers the total loss or damage of eligible purchases, including electronics, vehicle parts, baby gear, and office supplies. Since 2022, Igloo and Shopee have provided over 16.9 million protection plans.
