Mobile game “Brawl Stars” partnered with Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob SquarePants” in celebration of the animated show’s 25th anniversary. The in-game event, running from Sept. 5 to Oct. 2, reimagines popular characters from the series as Brawlers within the mobile game.
Developed by Supercell, “Brawl Stars” integrates Bikini Bottom into its universe. Fans can expect to see SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, and others with a fresh twist, including special abilities based on Krabby Patties, Jellyfishing, and more. The game’s iconic Starr Park setting merges with SpongeBob’s world, offering new maps and themed game modes.
To promote the collaboration, WWE star and actor John Cena stars in the event’s launch commercial. Cena, a long-time fan of both “Brawl Stars” and SpongeBob, called the collaboration “a wild mix” and a fun nod to both fandoms.
“The worlds of Bikini Bottom and Starr Park complement each other well and considering our community’s love for SpongeBob memes, we were confident our players would like to see a collab happen,” said Frank Keienburg, GM of Brawl Stars.
Players worldwide can download Brawl Stars on iOS or Android, joining SpongeBob and the rest of Bikini Bottom for a splashing good time.
