The PhilDev Foundation is expanding its work to link Filipino communities in the United States and the Philippines through new initiatives focused on science, technology, and innovation.
With operations in both countries, PhilDev continues to engage global Filipinos to support its mission: drive inclusive growth through education, entrepreneurship, and access to opportunity. By drawing from the expertise of the global Filipino community, PhilDev supports young innovators and students back home with scholarships, mentorships, and tech training.
Founded by Silicon Valley engineer and venture capitalist Dado Banatao, PhilDev builds partnerships across sectors, working with schools, government agencies, and industry leaders, to push for stronger ties between global professionals and Philippine-based talent.
On March 28, 2025, PhilDev launched “Be the Bridge,” a new community event series held in Palo Alto, California. The gathering, timed with Women’s History Month, brought together Filipino professionals in tech to discuss leadership and build new networks. Executive Coach Dolores Bernardo led the session, followed by a panel that included Emily Nishi, Chief People Officer at Discord.
“We believe in the power of community to spark lasting impact,” said Olivia de Jesus, executive director, PhilDev.
During the event, AVA Online Group CEO Oliver Segovia introduced the Philippine AI Retreat (PAIR), which aims to connect AI researchers working on real-world problems in the Philippines.
PhilDev also announced it will co-present the US-Philippines AI Summit at Stanford University in June 2025, highlighting collaboration between Filipino and global innovators.
The event marked a bigger effort by PhilDev to bring more Filipinos into its network, as mentors, donors, or advocates. With programs like YBLL, SHE++, and PAIR, the foundation stays focused on building a more inclusive, tech-driven future through shared knowledge and global engagement.
