The REDMI Note Series has shipped more than 460 million units worldwide, showing its role in Xiaomi’s growth in the global smartphone market. Cumulative shipments reached this level as of Dec. 18, 2025, with the series now sold in more than 100 countries.

Xiaomi said its global monthly active users exceeded 740 million as of September 2025. Within the company’s smartphone portfolio, the REDMI brand has been a key driver of scale. Xiaomi previously reported that total REDMI smartphone shipments reached 1 billion units in 2023, with the Note Series accounting for a large share.

Xiaomi ranked as the world’s third-largest smartphone maker in the third quarter of 2025, holding a 14% share of the global market, according to Omdia. While best known for smartphones, the company has expanded into a broader range of consumer electronics over the years.

“Over the past decade, the REDMI Note Series has earned the trust of users across global markets, and this is inseparable from Xiaomi’s long-term investment in research and development,” Cynthia Chen, marketing director of REDMI at Xiaomi Global Marketing Department, said. “Since the series first launched in Singapore 12 years ago, we have continuously advanced performance, quality, and accessibility at scale. This month, we’re excited to introduce the latest REDMI Note 15 Series to audiences around the world.”

The international rollout of the REDMI Note Series picked up pace between 2017 and 2018. The REDMI Note 4 Series entered Latin America through Mexico in May 2017. Later that year, the lineup debuted in Spain, marking its first entry into Europe. Today, devices are sold through Xiaomi Stores, online platforms, and mobile carrier partners.

Over time, the Note Series has added features that were once limited to higher-priced phones. Camera upgrades have been a priority. The REDMI Note 12 Pro+ 5G introduced a 200-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, along with fast charging, features that were uncommon in its price range at the time.

Durability has also been a steady theme. Earlier models introduced reinforced glass and basic water resistance. More recent versions, such as the REDMI Note 13 Pro+ 5G and the REDMI Note 14 Pro series, added higher levels of water and dust protection and stronger display glass.

The new REDMI Note 15 Series adds updates in battery life, cooling, and resistance to drops, dust, and water. At the top end, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G includes a new 200-megapixel camera sensor and higher protection ratings, continuing the series’ gradual move toward more advanced features at mid-range prices.
