RELX | Reed Elsevier, the shared services arm of global information and analytics company RELX, is expanding its technology operations in the Philippines as it supports work in research, healthcare, law, and data-driven decision-making around the world.
“Our purpose is to benefit society by developing products that help researchers advance scientific knowledge; doctors and nurses improve the lives of patients; lawyers promote the rule of law; and consumers make informed decisions,” according to the company’s global purpose statement. “This commitment to using data and analytics for good defines who we are as a company.”
Philippine-based teams help build and maintain tools used in scientific research, healthcare analytics, and legal workflows. These projects include AI-supported solutions for medical studies and digital tools that help legal professionals handle complex cases. The company operates hubs in Manila, Iloilo, Cebu, and Davao, connecting Filipino talent with global initiatives.
Guided by its global purpose to “enable professionals and businesses to make better decisions, get better results, and be more productive,” the company positions its local operations as part of a wider effort to support different industries through technology.
RELX | Reed Elsevier internal training arm, One RELX | Reed Elsevier University, provides programs in professional development, AI, machine learning, data analytics, and business skills.
The company also maintains diversity, equity, and inclusion programs through its Employee Resource Groups, including Women’s Circle, Pride Circle, Enabled, Mosaic, and Soul Circle.
“Our people are our greatest asset, and we invest in them accordingly,” said Albert Villagracia, vice president for human resources at RELX | Reed Elsevier. “More than career opportunities, we provide career transformation, enabling our talent to grow alongside the rapidly evolving tech landscape.”
Employees cite mentorship and leadership training as key to internal mobility. “I’ve had supportive managers and mentors who encouraged me to pursue certifications, pitch improvements, and present solutions that impact multiple teams,” said Elaiza, a data analyst who advanced to business analyst and project manager roles.
The company continues to hire across software engineering, data science, AI and machine learning, product development, and digital innovation as it expands its Philippine operations.
