The Supreme Court (SC) has launched the Court Management Office (CMO) Data Hub, a centralized online system that allows trial courts to submit reports directly to the Office of the Court Administrator’s Court Management Office.
Trial courts currently submit at least 23 different reports, such as the Monthly Report of Cases, Continuous Trial Monitoring System reports for criminal cases, and Small Claims updates. Through the CMO Data Hub, judges and court staff can now input and send data online, removing the need for manual processing by the CMO.
The online platform also allows both the courts and the CMO to track report submissions in real time. It collects essential data like court profiles and case aging to help the Supreme Court identify trends and make informed decisions for future reforms.
Platform cuts down delays, errors in court reports
The Supreme Court said the new system reduces the time it takes to process court data and helps avoid repeated or missing entries, delays, and inaccurate records. It is part of the judiciary’s Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027, which seeks to improve how courts operate.
“[T]his will be the wave of the future, a lean and mean administration, no redundancy,” said Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, chair of the SC Committee on Computerization and Library.
He said the platform is expected to help judges focus on resolving cases by reducing administrative tasks, especially with support from regional court managers and other digital reforms.
Full rollout set by year-end
The CMO Data Hub was developed by the Management Information Systems Office (MISO), led by Deputy Clerk of Court and Chief Technology Officer Atty. Jed Sherwin Uy, with support from the CMO.
Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, who heads the committee on performance evaluation of lower courts, urged court officials to prepare for the system. He said using the Data Hub would lead to better handling of court operations.
The CMO, under Chief Atty. Marilou Marzan-Anigan, will conduct training for selected courts ahead of the full rollout in all judicial regions. The launch also included an orientation for judges and court staff from various Metro Manila courts.
