The highly anticipated Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup (GR GT) Asia Finals 2024 will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Oct. 13. Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Asia has announced 15 finalists from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, who will compete in this regional e-Motorsports event on “Gran Turismo 7.”
This event is the fifth edition of the GR GT Cup Asia Finals. Competitors qualified through local races and will now race head-to-head in three rounds on well-known circuits, including Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring GP, and Fuji Speedway. The races will determine the top two who will advance to the global finals and compete for a spot in the worldwide GR GT Cup later this year.
Key racers include defending champion Andika Rama of Indonesia, Malaysia’s Taj Aiman, and Thailand’s Thanaphat Pungphat. Representing the Philippines are Luis Moreno, Russel Reyes, and newcomer Enzo Ison, who made their mark in the national finals held in August.
The event, hosted at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre, will be live-streamed on Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia’s and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ Facebook pages. Hosting duties will be led by Singapore’s Victoria Cheng, alongside local commentators from across the region.
With a prize pool of over $61,000, the competition will be intense as Toyota Gazoo Racing continues to innovate in the e-Motorsports space, aiming to nurture young talent and engage a broader audience.
