While Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) takes pride in the improved design of the 2020 Vios, it also focused on safety features ensuring that future car owners get a “complete package.”
In a virtual launch, TMP stressed its aim to keep the Vios as Filipinos’ “practical and smart choice” as well as a viable “long-term” investment for business owners.
“Toyota moves forward with efforts to adjust to this new normal,” said Atsuhiro Okamoto, president, TMP. “In our pursuit to always level-up in providing customers with constant improvement, we are now delivering on the Vios Legacy.
Made in the Philippines, the new Vios’ lineup boasts improvements on its looks and features across nine available variants: G CVT and M/T, E CVT and M/T, XLE CVT and M/T, XE CVT, and J and J Base in M/T.
The new Vios maintained the following safety features: anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution and brake assist, SRS airbags, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control.
The 2020 model features a low and wide stance, sporting a refreshed look with the exterior designed with glossy black front grille and accentuated by the 3-tier LED headlights and daytime running lights for G variants. G, E and XLE variants also get LED foglamps. G variants have 16” alloy wheels and LED rear combination lamps with line guide for a sleek and sporty look from the front, to the side, and the back.
For additional safety, some Vios variants also have a back camera that serves as a guide to see the rearview better when moving backward.
Toyota said it made access quick and easy with the smart entry feature and push start button for G variants. Drivers can get more control as they drive with the paddle shifters and available drive modes (Eco Mode and Sport Mode) for the G CVT variant.
The Electronic Brake Distribution is said to intelligently transfers most of the braking to the wheels that have more grip, while Brake Assist provides additional brake force when it senses that the driver is trying to make an abrupt or emergency stop.”
The G variants are equipped with the Smart Entry feature, which allows drivers and passengers to lock and unlock the car just by touching the door handle.
