Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI), a data science and (artificial intelligence) AI start-up backed by the Philippines’ Aboitiz Group, has formed a strategic partnership with Thailand-based Repco NEX Industrial Solutions (Repco NEX) to develop innovative industrial AI solutions for Southeast Asia.
The collaboration will leverage ADI’s AI expertise and Repco NEX’s strengths in robotics and digital asset management. The focus will be on digital transformation and asset maintenance, with ADI enhancing its AI strategies by building on Repco NEX’s expertise in AI of things (AIoT), robotics, and turbomachinery diagnostics.
ADI will be Repco NEX’s strategic partner for data science and AI, expanding its capabilities to innovate and deliver future industrial solutions. These solutions will range from optimizing production processes to ensuring energy efficiency.
“The partnership with REPCO NEX allows us to not only share and create new possibilities for the industrial sector but also bolster our capabilities in this domain,” said Dr. David R. Hardoon, CEO of ADI. “This demonstrates that we can make AI work across verticals.”
The partnership seeks to extend their combined industrial AI solutions across Southeast Asia, supporting the region’s transition to Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Industrial asset management
“Through our close collaboration, we are able to share our knowledge and expertise in our respective areas, create a strong offering for industrial asset management and maintenance beyond Thailand, and support the sustainable growth of our neighboring countries in Southeast Asia,” said Chakorn Kraivichien, managing director of Repco NEX.
This collaboration follows a previous partnership in May 2024, where Repco NEX and ADI teamed up with Aboitiz Power Corp. to launch “Project Arkanghel,” introducing the Philippines’ first smart power plants. This initiative aims to enhance asset health and reduce downtime through AI-driven proactive maintenance.
“The partnership we have with Repco NEX is done with the focus to deliver a faster and better approach to implement the digital powerplant across Southeast Asia,” said Luis Gonzalez, COO for Power & Industrials and head of Applied Research at ADI. “We are committed to work together to accelerate the implementation of annual preventive maintenance & operations, digital solutions, and a data-centric culture that operators can adopt.”
Actively forging strategic partnerships, ADI recently teamed up with Cloudera to empower Asia Pacific’s financial services and industrial sectors with generative AI capabilities. ADI is also an official Amazon Web Services partner for Select Tier Services and the Public Sector, enhancing its ability to deliver AI-powered solutions across the region.
