Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group, has announced the global availability of its Alibaba Cloud Certified Associate (ACA) Generative AI (GenAI) Engineer Course. This educational initiative is designed for customers, partners, and developers worldwide, including those in the Philippines.

The course is part of Alibaba Cloud’s broader effort to enhance digital talent development and make artificial intelligence more accessible.

The ACA Generative AI Engineering Course, developed by Alibaba Cloud Academy, covers essential concepts from the fundamentals of machine learning to advanced topics like natural language processing, encoder-decoders, and generative adversarial networks. Participants will also learn how to utilize models through retrieval-augmented generation and AI agents. The Academy is Alibaba Cloud’s division responsible for training and certification.

Structured in a three-step approach — learn, imagine, and apply — the course equips users with the skills needed to deploy generative AI applications on Alibaba Cloud platforms. Upon completion and passing the exam, participants receive an ACA certificate. Alibaba Cloud aims to train between 10,000 and 20,000 learners by the end of 2024 through this program.

“Our ACA Generative AI Engineer course is designed to unlock the creative capabilities of individuals and businesses, helping them drive forward the digital agenda,” said Selina Yuan, president of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.

Since April 2023, over 60,000 individuals have earned training certificates through Alibaba Cloud’s various talent development programs, which include partnerships with universities and training centers. The Academy offers over 300 certification courses and hands-on labs globally.

Alibaba Cloud partners with the National University Philippines

In the Philippines, Alibaba Cloud has partnered with National University (NU) Philippines to provide students and faculty with access to advanced digital and AI resources. This collaboration has also extended to the Asia Pacific College, where students receive ongoing online training in topics such as GenAI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Additionally, over 50 NU professors have participated in comprehensive training programs.

Alibaba Cloud’s Skills Centers and Training Centers further bolster its educational initiatives, offering hands-on learning experiences and up-to-date technological training. These facilities cater to a diverse audience, from students to industry professionals, and have been launched in several markets, with plans for expansion in Asia and Europe in 2024.
