Apple introduced Apple HomeView, a smart home display that combines voice-controlled home management, FaceTime calls, and entertainment, with facial recognition that brings up each user’s personal information.
Apple Home View has a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen and runs Siri AI, a new version of Apple’s voice assistant designed for more conversational exchanges. Pre-orders have opened, with availability beginning Nov. 13.
HomeView recognizes users by their faces and adjusts the experience to give them access to Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My. This allows household members to use it while accessing their content.
For home management, HomeView supports monitoring and voice-controlled automations, allowing users to manage home functions without touching the display. Apple said privacy and security are built into the device.
The screen changes how much information it shows based on the user’s distance. From across the room, it displays simpler information. As someone moves closer, it shows more detail.
Brightness adjusts for different lighting conditions, reaching 500 nits in bright rooms and dimming to 0.3 nits at night. True Tone adjusts the display to surrounding light.
The tabletop model has an aluminum body, a domed speaker base, and a stainless steel hinge for tilting the screen. It comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray, with matching cables.
A wall-mounted model offers the same screen, features, and audio in silver and space gray. Schneider Home provides three mounting options, with either self-installation or professional installation.
Siri AI can answer questions, help users discover music, and understand what is shown on the screen. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled device, it can use information from the user’s calendar, messages, and other apps to provide more personalized responses.
