Best Western Plus Metro Clark has received Speedtest Certified status from Ookla for its hotel-wide Wi-Fi network, following independent testing that showed the property met required performance standards.
The certification covers wireless connectivity across guest rooms and common areas and is supported by fiber connectivity from broadband and technology provider Converge.
Ookla, a connectivity intelligence company and a division of Ziff Davis, verified the hotel’s network under its Speedtest Certified program. The assessment measured signal coverage, upload and download speeds, and latency. Best Western Plus Metro Clark recorded a score of 72.5 out of 100, above the program’s minimum requirement of 70.
“Ookla’s certification for Best Western Plus Metro Clark validates the strength and quality of the fiber infrastructure and the digital experience it provides to guests,” said Eugene Yeo, chief executive advisor of Converge. “This collaboration shows how reliable, high-speed fiber supports hotel services.”
Speedtest Certified is a property network verification program that uses Ookla’s testing methods to confirm internet performance. The certification aims to give guests a clearer picture of what to expect from a property’s Wi-Fi, which has become a basic requirement for both leisure and business travelers.
“Fast, reliable Wi-Fi is now a fundamental guest expectation,” said Chafic Traboulsi, SVP, Sales EMEA and APAC at Ookla, a division of Ziff Davis. “We congratulate Best Western Plus Metro Clark on achieving Speedtest Certified status for its network.”
According to the test results, the hotel’s network delivers stable connectivity suitable for common online activities such as video calls, streaming, and cloud-based work. The system is designed with low latency for real-time applications and follows standard security and configuration practices. The network is backed by a 3,000 Mbps fiber connection from Converge to help maintain consistent speeds during peak usage.
The Wi-Fi setup is part of the hotel’s partnership with Converge Global Business, the enterprise unit of Converge. Aside from fiber connectivity, the provider deployed Content Plus, a hospitality solution that combines internet access with in-room entertainment options.
“Being Speedtest Certified by Ookla reflects our continued focus on improving guest amenities,” said Jansen Ivan Uy, president and chief operating officer of Savers Group Holdings, operator of Best Western Plus Metro Clark. “Our partnership with Converge has helped us provide a fast, stable, and secure Wi-Fi environment for both business and leisure guests.”
The certification places Best Western Plus Metro Clark among a small group of hotels that have undergone independent verification of their wireless networks, as hotels increasingly compete on digital readiness alongside traditional services.
