The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has teamed up with global game developer Moonton Games to become the official banking partner of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Philippines (MPL PH), the country’s longest-running esports league.
As part of the partnership, BPI launched both offline and online activities at the MPL Philippines Arena. These introduced services, such as Digital Deposit Accounts, Insurance, Investments, and Loans, designed to match the fast and mobile-first lifestyles of young gamers.
“BPI is deeply committed to building long-term financial security for professional esports players and coaches by equipping them with the tools and knowledge to manage their finances well beyond their gaming careers,” said Ma. Cristina Go, head of Consumer Banking, BPI.
Transferring in-game credits
MLBB remains one of the most popular games in the Philippines, with over 110 million active users each month, mostly among players aged 18 to 34. Through this collaboration, BPI plans to attract new customers to its #MySaveUp and #SaveUp accounts, making it easier for users to transfer in-game credits into real-world savings.
“This historic partnership benefits our fans with BPI’s programs curated for the MLBB esports and gaming community,” said Matthew Chan, head of Esports in the Philippines at Moonton Games. “We are one with BPI in showing our young fans available platforms and programs to develop healthy and lifelong financial habits, especially at a young age.”
BPI said that through this initiative, it hopes to support the growing gaming community while encouraging financial wellness.
