The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has renewed its partnership with Sportradar Integrity & Regulatory Services to monitor more than 8,200 football matches each year. The new deal, which begins in 2025, expands coverage to include all national men’s and women’s championships.
Sportradar, a company that collects and analyzes sports data, will use its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) to flag unusual betting activity that may indicate match manipulation. The technology will work alongside efforts by CBF’s Integrity Unit and FIFA to oversee over 10,000 games this coming season.
“With this new agreement, Sportradar is providing the most comprehensive coverage Brazilian football has ever had,” said Andreas Krannich, executive vice president of Integrity & Regulatory Services at Sportradar.
The renewed partnership aims to strengthen protection against match-fixing, which has been a growing concern in recent years across many football leagues worldwide.
Match-fixing cases fall in Brazil
The extension comes after a year of progress in curbing match manipulation. According to Sportradar’s “Integrity in Action 2024” report, Brazil saw a 48% drop in suspicious matches in 2024, with 53 fewer cases compared to the previous year.
“Strengthening the integrity of Brazilian football is a priority for this administration, and the renewal of this partnership further reinforces our commitment to this mission,” said Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF. “The work of the CBF’s Integrity Unit, in collaboration with Sportradar, will complement monitoring by FIFA and result in more than 10,000 Brazilian football matches being covered this season.”
Rodrigues added that the long-standing partnership has helped improve oversight and create a fairer environment for everyone involved in the game.
Long-term collaboration
The relationship between CBF and Sportradar began in 2018. Sportradar also provides similar integrity services to international football bodies, including FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL, the Asian Football Confederation, and the Colombian Football Federation.
The continued partnership with CBF reinforces Sportradar’s ongoing goal to help sports organizations protect competitions from integrity threats while supporting fair play at every level of the game.
