Canon Philippines has launched its new video-focused camera lineup, the EOS and PowerShot V Series, with the introduction of the EOS R50 V and PowerShot V1. Designed for content creators who prioritize video, the new models offer features designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality, mobile-friendly tools.
Canon said that while platforms like TikTok have increased demand for video-first content, many creators still use smartphones, which may limit video quality. The new V Series cameras aim to bridge that gap by offering portable, easy-to-use tools with advanced features.
“With the EOS R50 V and PowerShot V1, they can enjoy a blend of portability, intuitive controls, and high-end performance,” said Jian Liu, director for Consumer Information and Imaging at Canon Philippines.
The EOS R50 V features a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, 4K 60p livestreaming, professional audio tools, and Canon’s cinema-grade video features. It has a compact, viewfinder-free body that supports vertical video recording and is compatible with the RF-S14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens, Canon’s first lens with built-in power zoom.
The PowerShot V1, priced at ₱54,998 offers a 1.4-inch sensor, 16–50mm equivalent zoom lens, internal cooling fan, and up to six hours of continuous recording. Its built-in ND filter and subject tracking make it suitable for varied lighting conditions.
Both models support 10-bit Canon Log 3 recording and wireless connectivity for streaming and editing.
The EOS R50 V starts at ₱56,998, while the content creator kit is priced at ₱64,998.
