Capital One Philippines, a support service center, is focusing on leadership development as it secures a spot on the Asia’s Best Workplaces 2025 list. The recognition follows its third consecutive Great Place to Work certification and its fourth-place ranking in the IT-BPM category under the Philippines’ Best Workplaces this year.
The company said the recognitions reflect its continued work to build a people-centered culture and to strengthen leadership development across all levels. Its programs focus on career readiness, internal mobility, and training that prepares employees for larger responsibilities.
Capital One Philippines has built leadership preparation into the associate experience, with training offered before employees move into new roles. The company said this approach is meant to help teams adapt to changing workplace needs and to support long-term career growth.
One of its initiatives is an eight-week readiness program that uses a mix of online learning, live sessions, and practical exercises. The program is designed for employees identified as high-potential candidates for frontline leadership roles. The company said 124 associates have completed the program, with most moving on to Unit Manager roles. New leaders are also required to finish their basic training on coaching and management within their first 30 days.
“True leadership requires a support system to be effective,” said Phil Bravo, head of human resources of Capital One Philippines. “We develop our associates in a way that ensures they’re aligned with our mission, values, and purpose, and more importantly, ready for the new responsibilities that come with a new role. At every stage of an associate’s growth, we ask: What does support look like here? Then we design our people enablement programs to address those needs.”
The company said this structure helps both newly hired and long-time associates transition smoothly into larger roles. The focus is not only on work performance but also on well-being, including respect for time outside work and support for personal growth.
“As a Learning and Development professional, I feel a sense of purpose knowing that the work I do helps others grow,” said Riz Sanglay, senior unit manager of Capital One. “I found an empowering environment that encourages me to make a real difference. Training people and watching them shine as they apply what they’ve learned has been a rewarding part of my journey. It’s a wonderful feeling to see someone’s eyes light up when they do and learn more.”
Capital One Philippines said it will continue investing in its workforce to support career development and to build a pipeline of leaders who can meet the needs of its business and the communities it serves.
