Cisco’s new updates on its video conferencing platform, WebexOne is aimed at simplifying the most-used communications channel in the now normal.
The all-new Webex becomes an all-in-one solution wherein organizations can call, meet, and message in one app. It hopes to address communications challenges brought about by the sudden shift to digital platforms at the onset of the pandemic. Cisco’s Webex One promises to offer seamless collaboration, smart hybrid work experiences, and intelligent customer experiences.
The updates include noise cancellation and speech enhancement (product of its recent acquisition of BabbleLabs), transcriptions and closed captioning, highlights and action items, enhanced video layouts and Webex Huddle (spontaneous meetings with a single click), and a number of AI-powered (artificial intelligence) features in messaging and new calling features.

AI plays a significat role in the updates with Cisco enhancing its real-time translations with nine different languages. Webex also now has in-meeting gestures powered by body movement recognition.

To ensure that its solutions run smoothly, Cisco unveils a range of devices that is hoped to make video conferencing and communications a pleasant experience for users.
The Webex Desk Hub is like an all-in-one device for the now hybrid worker. The Desk Hub enables employees to access different essentials in video communications regardless of location in the office or even at home. It allows users to connect to all other solutions or devices. It even allows users to reserve a desk using your laptop, badge or cell phone to authenticate your identity.
The Webex Desk Camera has facial recognition and occupancy metrics that allows users to mute or unmite the microphone with hand gestures.
Webex Desk Pro allows presenters to use the background as the presentation screen. Users can share their slides and videos just like the old times when projectors were the most innovative thing. The all-in-one device has intelligent features users such as noise cancellation, virtual backgrounds, and facial recognition.
The Webex App Hub offers prebuilt integrations with Box, Dropbox, Salesforce, ServiceNow, MIRO, Mural, Workplace for Facebook.
