Cisco’s new updates on its video conferencing platform, WebexOne is aimed at simplifying the most-used communications channel in the now normal.
The all-new Webex becomes an all-in-one solution wherein organizations can call, meet, and message in one app. It hopes to address communications challenges brought about by the sudden shift to digital platforms at the onset of the pandemic. Cisco’s Webex One promises to offer seamless collaboration, smart hybrid work experiences, and intelligent customer experiences.
The updates include noise cancellation and speech enhancement (product of its recent acquisition of BabbleLabs), transcriptions and closed captioning, highlights and action items, enhanced video layouts and Webex Huddle (spontaneous meetings with a single click), and a number of AI-powered (artificial intelligence) features in messaging and new calling features.
“We are driven to deliver a Webex experience that is 10x better than in-person and at the same time make in-person interactions 10x better too,” said Jeetu Patel, SVP and GM, Security & Applications, Cisco. “Webex enables a shift toward hybrid working and less reliance on geography-based hiring, opening the global economy and giving everyone a seat at the table no matter where the table is.”
