Coins.ph, a digital asset exchange platform, has enabled Google Sign-In for its mobile app and web platform, allowing users to access their accounts without manual log-ins.
The update allows millions of users to sign in using their Google accounts, reducing the need to remember passwords and shortening access time. The integration is part of the platform’s efforts to simplify user access and strengthen account security.
“Our mission has always been to bridge the gap between complex financial technology and everyday Filipinos,” said Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph. “By enabling Google login for millions of users, we are removing one of the biggest barriers to entry. This is about making crypto and everyday payments not just secure, but truly effortless.”
The feature uses Google Identity Services from Google, which is built on OAuth 2.0 authentication. The system allows users to verify their identity using their Google accounts without sharing or storing sensitive login credentials on the Coins.ph platform.
Instead of using traditional passwords, user authentication relies on cryptographically signed identity checks issued by Google. The approach helps reduce risks from phishing, credential stuffing, and brute-force attacks.
Coins.ph said the update also provides several user benefits, including faster account access and fewer password reset requests. The integration allows users to manage account access through a single Google identity while also benefiting from Google’s threat detection and two-factor authentication features.
The company added that users can switch between mobile and web platforms without re-entering login credentials, supporting a smoother cross-platform experience.
