Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (Converge) and DITO Telecommunity Corp., a subsidiary of DITO CME Holdings Corp. (DITO), have officially signed a Master Facilities Provisioning Agreement (MFPA), which enables the two Philippine telecom companies to share selected terrestrial and submarine fiber optic cable assets.
The resource exchange is expected to boost the networks of both operators, resulting in expanded coverage, heightened redundancy, and operational efficiency gains. The collaboration aims to optimize existing facilities to achieve the shared objective of providing high-quality broadband connectivity to every Filipino household.

As of November 2023, Converge has 682,000 fiber kilometers, covering over 16.7 million homes, representing a household coverage of 62.3% in the Philippines. DITO Telecommunity has over 7,000 cell sites, reaching over 80% of the population in more than 850 cities and municipalities, with over 9.5 million activated subscribers on its pure 4G/5G network.

To implement the MFPA, separate Facilities Agreements will be negotiated, specifying details such as location, service restoration, and first-line maintenance for the shared facilities. The partnership is expected to result in lower downtime, faster throughput, and more reliable connectivity, ultimately enhancing the user experience for customers of both Converge and DITO Telecommunity.
