DITO Telecommunity has launched a new service, DITO Home WOWFi, which is considered the world’s first 5G RedCap Wi-Fi technology designed for home use. This new product promises to offer internet speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) and is powered by DITO’s standalone 5G network, often referred to as “true 5G,” because it operates independently of 4G infrastructure.
Partnering with Huawei Technologies, a global leader in 5G, DITO is expanding 5G technology beyond industrial use and into Filipino homes. This means faster, more reliable internet for households, especially in areas where traditional wired connections may be challenging to install.
“We want to change the norm and disrupt the market by giving Filipinos the home internet they deserve– fast, unlimited, and affordable,” Evelyn Jimenez, chief revenue officer for Consumer Business at DITO, said in a statement.

5G RedCap
5G RedCap, also known as NR-Light, is a lighter version of 5G that operates on standalone 5G networks. This new standard balances high-speed internet with low latency, making it suitable for applications like smart homes, which rely on the Internet of Things (IoT). DITO’s standalone 5G network allows it to deliver this cutting-edge technology.
DITO Home WOWFi service offers ease of use to subscribers. It’s a wireless broadband system, meaning there’s no need for cables or complicated installations — users just plug it in and start browsing. This simplicity makes it an attractive option for people working from home, students attending online classes, or anyone looking to stay connected with friends and family.
The service is also available in prepaid plans with no long-term contracts, making it accessible to a wider audience. Priced at P1,990 for the starter kit, which includes unlimited 5G data for 30 days, it’s designed to be both affordable and flexible for users.
DITO Home WOWFi is available through various online platforms, making it easy for potential customers to get started with this new service.
