The Department of Trade and Industry and broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc., through the Converge SME Business Group, will establish an artificial intelligence (AI) and start-up center that will support micro, small, and medium enterprises.
The DTI AI and Start-up Center will be located at the DTI building in Makati. It will offer digital tools, training sessions, and access to AI technologies to help small businesses adapt to the shift toward digital operations.
“Through this partnership with Converge SME, we are bridging that gap to ensure that Filipino entrepreneurs, regardless of location or size, are equipped to thrive in a technology-driven world,” said Nylah Rizza Bautista, assistant secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry.
The center will be open to MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs. It will allow them to test digital solutions, learn how to improve their online presence, and understand how new tools can help them operate more efficiently. Converge will provide fiber connectivity to support these activities.
Converge SME Business Group will work with DTI on capacity-building programs, digital onboarding, and access to its connectivity and productivity services for small businesses.
“This collaboration with DTI allows us to extend that mission to the very heart of our economy by empowering our MSMEs with the tools and technology to compete, grow, and innovate,” said Dindo Marzan, senior vice president and head of Converge SME Business Group.
DTI and Converge said the partnership aims to help more MSMEs adopt digital tools and adjust to current business demands.
“Digital empowerment is not just about technology, it’s about giving every Filipino entrepreneur the chance to succeed,” said Angela Gutierrez, vice president and head of marketing for Converge SME Business Group.
