Singapore-based e27, Asia’s largest tech and startup media platform, unveils the inauguration of Echelon X, Southeast Asia’s (SEA) tech and startup conference.

Scheduled for May 15-16 at the Singapore Expo, Echelon X’s 10th edition aims to catalyze business connections, unveil new opportunities, and foster a robust investment environment across the region’s tech landscape.

“Over the past decade, we have seen the tech ecosystem growing exponentially, with Echelon being the must-attend conference for all things tech and startup,” said Mohan Belani, CEO and co-founder of e27. “We have seen many revolutionary founders take the stage and showcase their innovative solutions to the world, and we are excited to see what the future will bring, especially with the rise of disruptive technologies, new generations of founders, and strong support from ecosystem partners.”

Echelon X aspires to boost the tech ecosystem’s resilience through enhanced collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective innovation. Focusing on mature startups, the event boasts over 100 distinguished speakers from entities like Coffee meets Bagel, Moomoo SG, Ninja Van, and Google Cloud, among others.

During the two-day conference, industry experts will discuss topics tailored for mature startups, including artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable growth, and business resilience. The event will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between e27 and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Group, aimed at propelling regional growth and innovation within the startup landscape.

Startups from SEA

The conference’s TOP100 program, a cornerstone feature, offers startups across the region invaluable exposure, mentorship, and funding avenues. The program’s expansion to include participants from India, Bangladesh, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia is noteworthy.

Among the selected startups, Careera (Singapore), Fina Fintech (Laos), Edge Tutor (the Philippines), dentall Co. Ltd. (Taiwan), The Mango Jelly (India), PriyoShop (Bangladesh), Talent Hero Ventures (Singapore), among others.

The conference will be graced by Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information, who will deliver the opening address on May 15.

Despite the prevailing funding slowdown in SEA, the timing of the conference is opportune, aligning with Singapore’s continued prominence as the region’s premier startup investment hub. Recent data underscores Singapore’s dominance, with a substantial share of equity deals in 2023, particularly in deep tech sectors.

Mohan Belani, CEO and Co-Founder of e27, expressed enthusiasm about the conference’s evolution over the past decade, underlining its pivotal role in showcasing innovative solutions and fostering entrepreneurial spirit. As Echelon X unfolds, stakeholders anticipate a dynamic forum driving transformative change across Southeast Asia’s tech landscape.
