EdgePoint Infrastructure (EdgePoint), a player in the Asean telecommunications infrastructure sector, has deployed its 15,000th tower in Karang Wareng, a district in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia.

In less than four years since its inception, EdgePoint has expanded its presence across Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

“This milestone is more than a number,” said Suresh Sidhu, CEO of EdgePoint Infrastructure. “It underscores our commitment to enhancing connectivity across the Asean region and reflects our dedication to providing robust infrastructure.”

EdgePoint’s growth began in Malaysia in 2020, followed by expansions into Indonesia in 2021 and the Philippines in 2022. The company has collaborated with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and other partners to establish a foundation for seamless connectivity in these markets.

“Connectivity is a crucial driver of economic growth and development,” Sidhu said.

Equitable access to connectivity

He emphasized the importance of accessible digital infrastructure and highlighted that EdgePoint’s mission is to support Asean’s progress by ensuring equitable access to connectivity, even in the most remote areas.

EdgePoint’s infrastructure plays a role in boosting digital access in underserved regions. Over the past year, the company has extended its reach into Sabah in Malaysia, Visayas and Palawan in the Philippines, and Papua, Sulawesi, and Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia. This expansion is part of their broader strategy to enhance connectivity in areas often overlooked by traditional infrastructure investments.

“This milestone is a testament to our ongoing efforts to ensure that reliable connectivity reaches all corners, including remote areas,” said William Walters, CEO of EdgePoint Philippines. “We are focused on deploying the right solutions to deliver optimal outcomes for our customers.”
