Federal Express Corp. (FedEx), an express transportation company, has introduced its Surround monitoring and intervention solution in the Philippines, aiming to help businesses manage their shipments better with improved visibility and control.

The solution provides three service levels, Select, Preferred, and Premium, supporting industries such as healthcare, aerospace, and high-tech. It helps ensure sensitive packages arrive on time and in good condition by offering tools that monitor shipments in near real time.

“With the launch of FedEx Surround, we are providing Filipino businesses with greater visibility and control over their shipments, ensuring faster and more reliable deliveries, regardless of global supply chain challenges,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines.

AI-driven features and 24/7 support

FedEx Surround combines real-time data with AI and SenseAware ID, a compact sensor that tracks packages every two seconds through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi access points. This allows customers to monitor their shipments hundreds of times more often than traditional tracking.

The service also offers value-added features like cold chain support and prioritized handling. Customers can choose to receive regular updates and customized reports.

Wider availability across Asia Pacific

Along with the Philippines, the FedEx Surround solution is available in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong SAR. FedEx plans to bring the tool to more Asia Pacific markets in the near future.

FedEx continues to expand its digital services with tools like FedEx Ship Manager and FedEx Delivery Manager.
