Federal Express Corp. (FedEx) has launched the FedEx Import Tool in the Philippines to help businesses manage the growing challenges of international trade.

The digital platform provides importers with a single-window system that automates tasks, gives better visibility, and simplifies the overall import process.

“By simplifying and accelerating the import process, we enable them to navigate the complexities of cross-border logistics, allowing our local entrepreneurs to focus on scaling up, meeting international demand, and building brands that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines.

The tool is already available in Australia, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. It helps reduce manual work related to customs documentation and regulatory compliance. FedEx plans to roll it out to more Asia Pacific markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and New Zealand.

Imports into the Philippines from January to April 2025 reached $42.78 billion, a 5.6% increase from $40.53 billion during the same period last year, reflecting higher demand for foreign goods and materials.

FedEx Import Tool is a a self-service platform that centralizes document management and shipment tracking. It is also a dashboard for visibility into each stage of shipments, which provides proactive notifications to help speed up clearance and reduce delays. It gives round-the-clock monitoring with the ability to track shipments up to 90 days after pickup.

FedEx also offers digital services such as FedEx Ship Manager, which supports small businesses and e-commerce merchants in managing shipments online. Customers can submit cross-border documents through FedEx Electronic Trade Documents, which helps cut paper use.

The company said it continues to apply new technologies, including machine learning, to improve delivery visibility and provide customers with more control over their logistics operations.
