Garmin has introduced the Descent X50i, its latest dive computer featuring a 3-inch color touchscreen display and SubWave sonar technology, allowing divers to communicate underwater and monitor each other’s tank pressure, depth, and distance.
The Descent X50i is built for technical and recreational divers. It features a sapphire lens, metal buttons, and a backup dive light. The device has a 20 ATM dive rating, making it suitable for deep dives.
“Whether scuba diving, cave diving, or seeking out shipwrecks, we know how important it is to have the most accurate data at all times,” said Dan Bartel, vice president of global consumer sales, Garmin. “Featuring a big, bright display and 20 ATM dive rating, the new Descent X50i is the perfect dive computer for technical divers and a great option for recreational divers who want to clearly see key stats and critical information while exploring the underwater landscape.”
The device includes a dual-band strap with a secure buckle. Its touchscreen makes it easier to navigate maps, check settings, and plan dives. Using SubWave technology, divers can send preset messages to others up to 30 meters away.
With DiveView maps, divers can access preloaded bathymetric depth contours and over 4,000 dive sites worldwide. Other features include a 3D dive compass, real-time depth history, and projected ascent data. Before diving, users can check tide data to stay informed about ocean conditions.
Once back on land, the dive log allows users to review data, track gear, and take notes via the Garmin Dive app. The Descent X50i is now available ₱94,990.
