Telecommunications company Globe has expanded the reach of its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), educating almost 6,200 participants this year on cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and ethical technology use.

In November, Globe’s program reached 450 individuals across Ilocos Sur, Pampanga, Rizal, and Davao del Norte, focusing on equipping communities with knowledge to counter online fraud.

“With the rise of digital threats, education is key to protecting individuals from scams that rob them of their resources and peace of mind,” said Yoly Crisanto, chief sustainability and corporate communications officer of Globe. “Our Digital Thumbprint Program empowers young people and parents to safely navigate the digital world.”

At Sto. Niño Central Elementary School in Talingod, Davao del Norte, over 150 parents participated in cybersecurity workshops.

“The training equips us to face the evolving telecommunications landscape,” said Cornelio Bangoy, assistant principal of Sto. Niño Central Elementary School.

In Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Globe joined the University of Northern Philippines’ Tech Week, engaging 200 ICT students in discussions on AI ethics and responsible technology use. The school hopes for continued collaboration, emphasizing the program’s positive impact on students.

Pampanga’s Don Honorio Ventura State University saw 70 student leaders attend online safety workshops.

“The program inspired us to create safer online spaces grounded in respect and mindfulness,” said Janaica Sus, a student council member.

In Antipolo, Globe engaged 30 participants in interactive sessions on fraud prevention and digital etiquette.

“Participants were eager to share these lessons with others, amplifying the program’s reach,” said Fiona Maloles, director of Customer Experience at Globe.
