Globe, telco services and digital solutions provider, has formed a new group to ramp up its adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
Ernest Cu, president and CEO of Globe, announced the creation of the AI Development and Enablement Group (AIDE), which will leverage AI to improve business operations, service delivery, and customer experience. AIDE will officially start operations on June 1, 2024, focusing on strategic AI planning, development, integration, and governance.
“We’ve begun to see AI’s impact by way of the different teams across Globe having ongoing initiatives to take advantage of its benefits, but it is imperative that we move forward with unified intent and renewed vigor to navigate these new technological frontiers swiftly,” said Cu.
Chief AI Officer
Leading the new group is Anton Bonifacio, a cybersecurity and data privacy expert who has been appointed as Globe’s first chief AI officer (CAIO). Bonifacio, who also serves as the company’s chief information security officer, has been instrumental in advancing Globe’s innovations in data protection and cyber defense.
“The creation of AIDE signifies a strategic investment in our technological capabilities and a concerted effort to integrate AI seamlessly into our operations,” said Bonifacio.
Globe has already begun integrating AI into its operations, utilizing the technology for efficiency and cost management. AI is being implemented in various internal processes, including credit and collection, financial reporting, and procurement contracts. The company has also started using AI for customer care and credit scoring.
“We are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and responsible AI use, ensuring that our advancements drive business growth, improve service delivery, and enhance customer experience while adhering to the highest standards of governance and compliance,” Bonifacio added.
