Globe AT HOME is expanding its barangay-based broadband centers across the Visayas, making it easier for residents to apply for fiber internet services without traveling to traditional service locations.
The new broadband centers serve as community access points where residents can inquire about Globe Fiber plans, check service availability, receive application assistance, and get support throughout the subscription process. Globe assigns dedicated broadband representatives to assist walk-in customers and visit nearby households to inform residents about available connectivity services.
“Reliable connectivity has become essential for education, work, business, and everyday life,” said Jimbo Cordero, general manager in Visayas, Globe. “By bringing broadband services closer to communities, we are making it easier for more families to access the opportunities that come with a strong internet connection.”
For Globe, the initiative strengthens its presence in local communities while helping address one of the barriers to broadband adoption: limited access to information and application support, particularly in areas located far from service centers.
The company said access to fiber internet can help students attend online classes, conduct research, and access digital learning resources from home. Families can also use internet connectivity for government transactions, online banking, bill payments, job applications, and other digital services.
Small business owners and home-based entrepreneurs can use broadband connectivity to market products online, communicate with customers, and support business growth. Households can also use internet services for streaming, online gaming, video calls, smart home applications, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
Globe said additional broadband centers will open this June in Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Samar, Leyte, Bohol, and Cebu. Similar community-based broadband access points have already been established in Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Oriental, Samar, Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Aklan, Capiz, and Antique.
Residents in participating barangays may visit the nearest Globe broadband center to check coverage availability and apply for Globe Fiber services.
