Telecommunications company Globe reported ₱25.2 billion in mobile data revenues in the third quarter of 2025, showing continued demand for mobile internet across its nationwide customer base.

Globe ended September with 63.1 million mobile subscribers, a 5% increase from the same period last year. Data accounted for 86% of total mobile service revenues.

“The global pivot to mobile-first, data-centric ecosystems is transforming customer behavior, and our network readiness allows us to fully participate in this shift,” said Carl Cruz, president and CEO of Globe. “Mobile will remain the backbone of our growth as we push forward with customer-focused innovations and inclusive services.”

Globe said the steady growth in data use is influenced not only by local habits but also by wider global trends where more activities depend on mobile internet. The company noted that people now rely on mobile data for communication, entertainment, financial services, and work-related tasks.

Globe said its focus on improving data services aligns with efforts to support digital adoption nationwide. The company said better connectivity helps customers from different income groups access essential digital tools, especially as more services move online.

To support the demand, Globe continued to invest in its network. As of end-September, the company built 1,375 new cell sites, upgraded 8,699 mobile sites, and added 877 new 5G sites. These improvements were made in busy urban areas and growing provincial markets where data use is increasing.

The company said the upgrades improved coverage and boosted network capacity, allowing customers to access faster and more stable mobile internet services. Globe added that these enhancements helped sustain data revenue growth even as total data traffic stayed largely steady.

Globe’s 5G network expansion now covers 98.71% of Metro Manila and 98.31% of key cities in the Visayas and Mindanao. The company said this level of coverage supports wider use of online services, including streaming, digital payments, and e-commerce. It also aims to make cloud-based applications more accessible for businesses.
