Google’s revenue is helped by its Google Cloud Platform, which has generated $8.92 billion in revenue in fiscal 2019. For the fourth quarter of 2019 alone, it reported $2.61 billion earnings.

With $8.92 billion in revenue in fiscal 2019, with $2.61 billion generated in the fourth quarter, this segment pushed the company’s earning trajectory upward.

The cloud business, even from other vendors Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, is a big contributor to company earnings as digital transformation is being pushed across all organizations be it in public or private sector.

The report also marked the first time Google breaks down the earnings of one of its most popular business, YouTube, which is at $15.15 billion in ad revenue in fiscal 2019, with $4.72 billion earned in the fourth quarter alone. Compared to 2018, YouTube had revenue of $11.16 billion.

Google has since moved from being a search engine company to a giant technology company with diversified services. It has been selling targeted ads across the web. Since acquiring YouTube in the last quarter of 2006 for $1.65 billion, this year marked the first time the company shared its earnings.

Google’s total ad revenue is at $37.93 billion in Q4 compared to $32.63 billion last year.
