Google News Initiative launches Data & Insights Launchpad training program

Google News Initiative (GNI), Google’s largest-ever effort to help journalism thrive in the digital age, is announcing the launch of its new Data & Insights Launchpad. The Launchpad is a training program designed for Southeast Asian news organizations to help them improve their data capabilities.

The Data & Insights Launchpad training program will run for three months, offering a practical and intensive experience for up to eight participants among publishers in the region. Interested publishers should have had a digital business for at least two years and have a minimum of 250,000 monthly visitors.

The digital program will provide participating publishers with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of data and the necessity of investing in a data team, tools, and platforms.

As part of the program, participants will also receive dedicated 1:1 support for their data teams from GNI partner, digital consultancy FT Strategies. They will also learn not only from Google and FT Strategies, but also from the shared experiences of other participants.
