In partnership with Khan Academy, technology giant Google introduced “Learn@Home” on YouTube in an effort to augment learning resources already available online. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted how the world works with governments ordering lockdowns and community quarantines to, hopefully, prevent the virus from spreading.

Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization created in 2008 by Salman Khan that provides a set of online tools for students.

“Learn@Home” offers family learning resources across various subjects including Science (Crash Course on Chemistry), Math (Khan Academy: Algebra Foundations), History (History of Civil Rights Movements), and Language and Arts (How to Be a Perfect Public Speaker).

There are also playlists for families with children 12 years and under.

For families with kids 12 and under as well as preschoolers. To encourage physical activities, there are videos on fun do-it-yourself arts and craft that could help take away the boredom to kids.

“Learn@Home” encourages parental supervision especially to the young children as it said, “YouTube is intended for users over 13, so if that’s your preferred destination.” Watching together may also help ease the boredom and form a stronger learning bond as a family.

Khan Academy also has created sample schedules for students in every grade and in most major subject areas to fill in those hours in a day. Parents can modify them depending on the schedule of their children who attend online classes.
