HGC Global Communications Limited (HGC), an international telecommunications and ICT provider, introduced a Data Center Interconnect (DCI) service in the Philippines, linking eight major data centers in the country.

HGC’s DCI solution directly connects data centers without additional nodes, ensuring faster and more reliable connectivity.

“We are excited to announce our launch in the Philippines, coinciding with the country’s significant digital transformation initiatives,” Andrew Kwok, CEO of HGC said in a media release. “HGC will continue investing in telecommunications infrastructure and advancing AI-driven ICT services to boost digital capabilities across various sectors.”

The new service addresses the rising demand for data center connectivity, driven by increasing cloud adoption, content hosting, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. HGC’s infrastructure, built using advanced Horizontal Directional Drilling technology, minimizes disruptions and enhances service reliability.

“Our service is backed by reputable partners and customers who believe in the strong capability of the group as proven by its international success,” said Michael De Castro, FVP for In-Country Project Investment of HGC.

HGC’s DCI network in the Philippines will connect with clusters in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, further integrating the region’s digital landscape while positioning the Philippines as a growing international hub.
