Mobile device brand Honor has launched the Honor 500 Series globally, introducing two models, the Honor 500 and the Honor 500 Pro, catering to the mid-range smartphone market.
The series focuses on camera performance, battery life, and software features, with both models sharing a similar design and core hardware approach. Honor said the devices are designed for users who rely heavily on their phones for photos, video, and daily tasks.
“With this series, we are redefining what consumers should expect from a standard, mid-range smartphone,” said Fei Fang, president of Products at Honor. “The Honor 500 is ‘standard’ done right, delivering a complete, well-rounded user experience that is engineered to impress. The Pro (model) goes a step beyond, building upon the solid foundation to improve upon every facet of the experience, just like what a ‘Pro’ model is expected to do.”
Both phones come with a 200-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The Pro model adds a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with Honor’s self-developed stabilization system, designed to reduce blur during handheld shooting.
Honor highlighted live imaging features that allow users to apply background blur and visual effects using both front and rear cameras. The phones also support converting 4K videos into shareable live clips, making short-form video posting easier.
Performance differs between the two models. The Honor 500 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, while the Honor 500 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Honor said both devices are tuned for stable gaming and smooth everyday use.
Battery capacity is a major focus of the series. Both models use an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and support reverse wired charging, allowing them to power other devices when needed.
The phones run on MagicOS 10, which introduces a customizable AI Button that gives quick access to selected functions. The Pro model also includes an enhanced RF chip designed to improve signal quality in areas with weak network coverage.
Honor said the phones use an integrated unibody design with water and dust resistance, and are offered in Blue, Pink, Silver, and Black. The series will be available in China.
