Mobile device brand Honor has partnered with new energy vehicle manufacturer BYD to integrate Honor’s vehicle connectivity solution with BYD’s next-generation DiLink smart ecosystem. The partnership aims to improve AI-driven mobility experiences for consumers.

The collaboration will focus on joint work in technology integration, AI agent functions, and a Bluetooth-based digital car key. It also includes developing a shared channel model that combines Honor’s connected vehicle capabilities with BYD’s smart ecosystem for better compatibility across devices, as well as coordinated marketing, product launches, and customer engagement.

“Our partnership with BYD is a comprehensive collaboration for the AI era, with smart mobility as the key strategic focus at this stage,” said James Li, CEO of Honor. “Together, we will advance joint technology development, complement each other’s strengths, and co-create an ecosystem of seamless and intelligent mobility experiences that enrich every journey and help usher in a new paradigm of smart living.”

The two companies first worked together in 2023 to introduce smartphone NFC car keys, allowing BYD owners to lock and unlock vehicles using Honor smartphones. In 2024, they expanded the partnership to include in-vehicle fast charging.

Honor and BYD said they will continue to develop phone-to-car connectivity, digital keys, and other features designed to enhance safety and convenience in smart mobility.

This year, the partnership deepened with the launch of Honor Car Connect, first adopted by BYD’s premium sub-brand DENZA. The system will expand to more BYD brands to allow smooth cross-device interaction and continuous service.
