Smart devices brand Honor has announced that its upcoming Magic7 Series will be built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform. Revealed at the Snapdragon Summit 2024, the Magic7 Series promises to bring new AI features aimed at simplifying daily tasks and enhancing mobile gaming.

“Openness and collaboration are in our DNA,” said Dr. Ray Guo, chief marketing officer at Honor Device Co. Ltd. “With Qualcomm, we are creating an AI-first ecosystem, introducing the industry’s first on-device AI Agent for an open ecosystem, and bringing generative AI to gaming through NPU computing.”

The Magic7’s AI Agent, debuting on MagicOS 9.0, is set to streamline tasks across apps. For instance, it can handle ordering takeout or canceling subscriptions based on user prompts. With user consent, it can even learn preferences, like choosing coconut milk for coffee orders, and making intelligent choices on the user’s behalf.

“We’re thrilled to work with Honor to shape AI’s future and redefine how people interact with technology,” added Chris Patrick, SVP and GM of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm.

Autopilot AI

The Magic7 Series will also feature real-time AI-powered graphics rendering, a first for mobile gaming. This function is designed to reduce GPU load, lowering device temperature while maintaining high-quality visuals during gameplay.

Honor’s MagicRing technology, also introduced at the summit, connects multiple Honor devices seamlessly, allowing users to share resources across gadgets. For example, MagicRing lets users create detailed artwork across platforms, further integrating AI into everyday experiences.

Expected soon, the Magic7 Series aims to make Honor’s vision of Autopilot AI a reality, making daily tech interactions smoother and more personalized.
