Chinese smartphone maker Honor has revealed an early look at a new device it calls the “Robot Phone,” during the launch of its Honor Magic8 Series in Beijing.
The company described the Robot Phone as combining “multi-modal intelligence, robotic functionality and advanced handheld imaging.” While full specifications were not disclosed, media reports indicate the concept includes a gimbal-mounted camera arm that can unfold from the device and track motion autonomously.
Honor said that more details will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC) in Barcelona.
This move supports Honor’s initiative, the so-called “Alpha Plan,” aimed at evolving the company from a smartphone brand into a broader AI device ecosystem leader.
Analysts note that while the Robot Phone is still at a concept stage, it signals Honor’s intent to push into devices that go beyond traditional smartphone functionality.

Honor’s Robot Phone teaser offers a glimpse of what the company describes as a “new species of AI device.” More concrete information, such as pricing, release date, availability or full specification, is expected at MWC 2026.
