Honor at VivaTech 2024

At VivaTech 2024, a major tech and innovation event in Europe, Honor made a significant debut by unveiling its Four-Layered AI Strategy and announcing future artificial intelligence (AI) integrations in collaboration with Google Cloud.

“At Honor, we believe in harnessing on-device AI’s personalization, intuitiveness, and privacy protection to unlock AI’s full potential safely,” said George Zhao, CEO of Honor Device Co., Ltd. “Our collaboration with Google Cloud will push the boundaries of this hybrid approach and deliver seamless AI experiences to our users.”

Honor’s four-layer AI architecture

The Four-Layer AI Architecture is designed to enhance user experience across Honor devices. It includes:

  1. Cross-device and Cross-OS AI: The foundational layer fosters an open ecosystem, allowing computing power and service sharing among Honor devices and various operating systems.
  2. Platform-level AI: This layer focuses on personalizing the operating system, enhancing human-computer interactions, and optimizing resource use based on user intent.
  3. App-level AI: Here, Honor is developing innovative, generative AI applications aimed at transforming user experiences.
  4. Interface to Cloud-AI services: This ensures access to comprehensive cloud services, with a strong emphasis on privacy protection.

MagicOS 8.0 and Magic Portal

Honor also showcased MagicOS 8.0, which includes the Magic Portal, a new user interface designed to simplify complex tasks into single-step processes by understanding user behavior. Currently supporting over 100 top applications, Magic Portal spans areas like travel, productivity, messaging, search, entertainment, shopping, and social media. The company plans to extend its capabilities further, making it even more seamless and intelligent. MagicOS 8.0 will soon be available on Honor Magic V2 and Honor 90 devices.

Honor 200 Series

In photography, Honor introduced the Honor 200 Series, which uses AI to replicate Studio Harcourt’s iconic lighting and shadow effects, promising studio-quality portraits. This series was launched in Paris on June 12, offering users the ability to capture professional-grade images effortlessly.

During VivaTech, a panel discussion featured Dr. Justine Cassell, an expert in multimodal interaction. Cassell highlighted the future of AI, saying that “humans live multimodally and the integration of verbal and nonverbal cues in AI systems predicts a future where multimodally-sensitive AI on phones helps a diverse range of users.”
