There are quite a number of books about startups and entrepreneurship, but only a few truly capture the real struggles and wins of starting and starting over.
In “Unlimited Possibilities,” Filipina entrepreneur Kate Hancock and media personality and serial entrepreneur Daniel Robbins not only share business lessons but also tips and strategies that help readers navigate a world teeming with challenges.
“We live and breathe entrepreneurship,” Hancock said during a recent media roundtable.
The pandemic became a major turning point for almost everyone in business, as life was effectively put on pause. Hancock noted that life’s struggles can shift one’s perspective in different directions, either for the better or for the worse.
“For me, it has become more of a personal mission than a business mission to leave a positive lasting impact on people like us, entrepreneurs,” she said.
Hancock migrated to the United States from the Philippines after graduating from college. She started as an employee, but her business acumen led her to establish an online-based business. As the cliché goes, the rest is history.
It seems only natural that her inspiring journey would be turned into a book, but the idea actually stemmed from her TEDx talk years ago.
“TEDx, and we got a lot of really good feedback about that talk, and so we had the idea to write a book,” Robbins said.
The two wrote the book two and a half years ago.
“‘Unlimited Possibilities’ is essentially breaking through barriers that you didn’t think were possible,” Robbins said. “Think of it like, what is your unlimited possibility?”

With artificial intelligence (AI) becoming more common, it is now easy to create something but still difficult to stand out.
Robbins noted that when creation becomes easy, the winners are not those with the most ideas, but those solving the most important problems. This is especially relevant in the startup ecosystem, where competition for attention is stiffer than ever, and even more so when trying to convert that attention into customers.
The book aims to provide insights on addressing real problems and drawing inspiration from solving them.
What sets “Unlimited Possibilities” apart from other business books is its structure. Each chapter is built around a single theme, and each theme is brought to life by a widely respected business leader who shares their own experience.
Published by Penguin Random House, the book debuted at No. 3 on the Straits Times bestseller list. It quickly became a reference point for entrepreneurs across Asia and the United States seeking a more honest, less polished take on what it takes to build something from nothing.
