The Information Security Officers Group (ISOG), a professional information security organization in the Philippines, marked its 10th anniversary on July 10, 2024. The celebration at the Peak Music Lounge of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in BGC, Taguig, drew over a hundred information security professionals from various sectors.
“At ISOG, our commitment remains steadfast: to protect, to educate, and to empower,” Archie Tolentino, president of ISOG, in his opening remarks. “We will continue to advance our knowledge, share our expertise, and collaborate with partners across industries to create a resilient cyber ecosystem.”
Tolentino emphasized the importance of not just responding to threats but also anticipating and preventing them to ensure the Philippines’ cyber resilience.
Joey Regala, chair emeritus, ISOG, recounted the organization’s history, reflecting on its inception on July 7, 2014, by nine chief information security officers at the UCPB Board Room. They united to address the growing cybersecurity challenges, laying the foundation for ISOG.
“Getting involved in our community reflects our dedication and drive to contribute to cybersecurity excellence for our nation,” said Chito Jacinto, VP and chair of Membership & Events at ISOG. “It’s about sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and working together to tackle the challenges we face in the digital world.”
The event recognized the 2022 ISOG Cybersecurity Excellence Awardees and announced the opening of nominations for Season 2, with the award ceremony scheduled for Oct. 17. ISOG also recognized the top contributing members, board of trustees, and sponsors who have supported the ISOG I AM Secure initiative for over three years.

Founded initially for information security professionals in the finance and banking industry, ISOG has expanded to include members from various sectors and companies, extending its global impact. The organization focuses on three pillars:
- education and awareness of information security practices
- inter-institutional incident response
- intelligence sharing on countering cybercriminals.
The event concluded with an oath of commitment, where members reaffirmed their dedication to upholding the highest standards in the profession, symbolizing their collective responsibility to secure the information that drives the modern world.
The event, organized by XMS, was supported by several sponsors, including Huawei, NMI, Cisco, Sophos, Sangfor, F5, Fortinet, Eclypsium, TrendMicro, Theos Cyber, Check Point, Forcepoint, Rapid7, Pentera, KnowBe4, SecurityScorecard, Palo Alto, Yubico, Vectra, Netskope, Zscaler, Tehtris, Tenable, Cyble, Gatewatcher, Wallix, Gyptol, Edgio, Gigamon, Blancco, Arista, XM Cyber, and Cloudflare.
