Jollibee Group, Security Bank Corp., and BrandPlay were among the major winners at the 61st Anvil Awards, which recognized public relations programs, tools, and agencies in the Philippines.
Jollibee Group received the Company of the Year award. Its partnership with communications firm Stratworks also earned the Grand Anvil, which recognizes outstanding public relations programs. The recognition highlighted the company’s branding and communication efforts tied to its “Bida” campaign.
Security Bank Corp. secured the Platinum Anvil under the PR Tools category. The project was recognized for presenting corporate data in a clear and transparent way while highlighting customer service initiatives.
BrandPlay was named Agency of the Year, recognizing its work across various communication campaigns and client projects.
The ceremony opened with the traditional Banging of the Anvil, led by broadcast journalist Jessica Soho. The segment highlighted the role of integrity and truth in public relations and journalism.
“Behind every submission you see tonight is a process that demanded patience, discipline, and heart,” said Ana Pista, APR, chair of the 61st Anvil A. “Tonight, we are not just celebrating campaigns or tools. We are celebrating an industry that refuses to stand still, an industry that continues to learn, to serve, and to become stronger, year after year.”
Pista also noted the increase in participation this year, with 78 institutions joining the awards, compared with about 50 in the previous year. She said the increase shows growing interest in strategic communication despite challenges such as misinformation and shorter audience attention.
Entries underwent a three-level judging process that focused on data insights and strategy. The process was audited by SGV & Co. to ensure fairness.
The event was hosted by Thale Joy Blanco Escuton, Franz de la Fuente, and Emver Cortez. Leadership of the awards will transition to Norman Agatep for the 62nd year.
