Kingston Technology, a provider of memory products and technology solutions, has maintained its position as the world’s leading third-party DRAM module supplier, according to the latest revenue rankings from analyst firm TrendForce.
The company held an estimated 66% share of the global DRAM module market in 2024, its 22nd consecutive year at the top. TrendForce reported that global DRAM module sales rose 7% year-over-year, reversing the 28% decline seen in 2023. While Kingston sustained a large market share, its revenue growth slowed in the second half of 2024 due to weaker consumer demand.
TrendForce said the world’s top 5 memory module manufacturers accounted for 81% of total sales, while the top eight made up 83%. Kingston remained well ahead of competitors, with the second-ranked supplier holding only about 5% of the market.
By the end of 2023, DRAM suppliers had shifted focus to high-bandwidth memory and server-grade DDR5 products, resulting in tighter supply of other DRAM types. This led to higher demand and prices in early 2024. Module makers responded by increasing procurement and replenishing inventory, pushing total market revenue to $13.3 billion. However, as module prices continued to increase later in the year, demand slowed, capping overall growth.
“The 2024 findings from TrendForce show the company’s ongoing strength and adaptability in the face of yet another demanding business year,” Kingston said. “This milestone not only reaffirms Kingston’s dominant presence in the market but also underscores the company’s resilience and significance within the industry, as we now proudly maintain our top position for the 22nd consecutive year.”
