BIWIN Storage Technology has introduced the Acer FA200, a PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive designed for faster data access on desktops, laptops, and gaming consoles such as the PlayStation 5.

The Acer FA200 uses a PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe 2.0 interface and supports sequential read speeds of up to 7,200 MB/s, according to the company. BIWIN said the drive is aimed at users who need quicker boot times, faster file transfers, and shorter game loading times.

The SSD features a single-sided design, which allows it to fit into a wide range of devices, including thin laptops and compact systems. BIWIN said this makes the FA200 suitable for both upgrades and storage expansion.

To improve performance, the Acer FA200 uses Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology together with SLC cache. These features allow the drive to access system memory more efficiently, which can help speed up everyday tasks such as starting applications, copying files, and loading games.

The FA200 also includes built-in thermal and power controls. BIWIN said the drive has a thermal throttle mechanism and dedicated power management that help regulate temperature and energy use during operation. A graphene heat pad is included to help disperse heat, especially during heavy workloads such as video editing, 3D rendering, and graphics-intensive gaming.

The Acer FA200 comes with a customized version of Acronis True Image. The software allows users to clone existing drives, back up data, and transfer files when moving to a new storage device. BIWIN said this is intended to make upgrades easier while helping users protect their data.

The company positioned the FA200 as a general-purpose PCIe 4.0 SSD for users who want faster storage without changing their existing systems. Compatibility with desktops, laptops, and gaming consoles was highlighted as a key consideration in the product’s design.
