Lenovo, a global technology company, and Asian Hospital and Medical Center have improved clinical workflows after standardizing the hospital’s PC infrastructure, cutting device-related issues from more than 200 monthly support tickets to almost zero in upgraded areas.

Asian Hospital, part of the Metro Pacific Hospital (MPH) Group, which operates nearly 30 hospitals nationwide, unified its endpoint devices to address inconsistent performance from a mix of brands. The previous setup caused frequent slowdowns, crashes, and unexpected shutdowns that disrupted access to hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).

“In a hospital context, a failing laptop is not just an inconvenience, it has a direct impact on patient care,” said Frank Vibar, CIO of Asian Hospital and Medical Center. “If a doctor is recording diagnoses or reviewing patient data and the device slows down or crashes, it disrupts the entire care process and creates frustration for both clinician and patient.”

The hospital chose Lenovo for its track record in enterprise reliability and support. Both teams mapped specific device types to different roles, including finance, HR, mobile staff, nurse stations, emergency room units, and clinical areas that require barcode scanning for medication workflows.

Following the rollout, the hospital reported faster system performance and more stable access to critical applications. Doctors and nurses experienced smoother documentation and quicker retrieval of patient data, helping reduce delays in care delivery.

The partnership highlights how reliable PC infrastructure can directly support patient care, especially in high-pressure hospital environments where system downtime can affect clinical decisions.

The drop in IT incidents also allowed the hospital’s IT team to shift focus from troubleshooting to higher-value work such as cybersecurity, networking, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) integration.

With improved device availability, Asian Hospital expanded deployments in high-demand areas such as the emergency room. Clinicians working in Lenovo-equipped units have also started requesting replacements for older devices, showing growing confidence in the standardized setup.
